Commentary
This new release incorporates the Moser’s superb perpetual calendar movement (Cal. HMC 808) with a beautiful hammered metal grand feu enamel dial in a deep purple with fumé gradations. The case is in 18k red gold with inserts and the case back which are made of black DLC treated titanium. The crown is also in DLC titanium. The overall look is not quite like other two tone watches, as the black titanium looks quite discreet and though it contrasts with the red gold, is not garish. It also helps that Moser and Sincere has chosen to render the case in matte instead of making it shiny.
The base watch is the Moser Perpetual Calendar rendered as in their Concept style, which is Moser-speak for a minimalist style dial with no branding and no markings. The only markings on the dial is a +/= mark at the 9 o’clock position to denote the power reserve, and the month and large date display.
The dial is other wise bare to showcase the beautiful purple fumé, wih the grand feu enamel applied over a hammered metal surface. This dial style is not new either, we first saw it in the Streamliner Small Seconds Blue Enamel, but in a blue fume over a similar pattern. This patterned and textured fumè enamel dial is very interesting, and can be considered beautiful if one likes purple as a colour. For us, the colour is a winner.
The perpetual calendar is also a slightly modified version of their class leading quantieme perpetual system. Instead of a small hand mounted co-axially in the center below the hour and minute hands to show the month, a month disc is used to display this information within an aperture in-board from the large date. And other than a minimalist approach to the power reserve indicator, the dial seems to have loads of negative space going on. The leap year information, which is essential for setting the perpetual calendar is shown on the movement side.
