Commentary
Four new variants to the Vanguard Sport collection, this one exclusive for the Asia Pacific market. What is new is the brushed dial with a sun guilloché finish. The standard Vanguard Sport (also Asia Pacific exclusive) has a guilloché pattern described as pavé de losanges dial. The motif is a richly textured diamond which catches and reflects light in a dynamic dance.
The numerals are the typical exploding Arabic appliqué with hand painted infill and is a nice contrast to the otherwise highly machined dial and polished steel case. These appliqué are raised above the dial. The sporty nature of the case and hence the watch remains, as does the cool casual vibes. The dials are made in-house by Franck Muller in their dial-making facility which we visited some time ago. See our reports here and here.
The movement remains the MVD 2536-SCDT automatic movement with 43 hour power reserve.
Pricing for for the novelty watches is the actually lower than the existing Vanguard Sport. A price reduction of SGD 1.2k from the regular collection.

Franck Muller presents the latest addition to the trademark Vanguard series, distinguished by its sporty tonneau shape and clean, contemporary aesthetics. The Vanguard Sport Asia Pacific Exclusive reflects the Maison’s mastery of sculptural form, refined detail, and functional design.
Rooted in the House’s signature tonneau silhouette, the Vanguard Sport embodies a confident balance of bold design and everyday versatility. Crafted in a V 43 stainless steel case, hand-polished to enhance its fluid contours, the watch delivers a strong yet refined presence on the wrist.
True to the exceptional level of craftmasnship the House is known for, the dial takes centre stage in this timepiece, featuring a brushed finish with a striking sun guilloché, characterised by circular lines radiating outward from the centre. This finishing creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, giving the dial remarkable depth and vibrancy on the wrist. Each appliqué numeral is meticulously painted and applied by hand, a process that requires exceptional precision and craftsmanship.
Complementing the dial is the contrast stitching on the alligator leather straps which varies according to reference, offering the timepiece a playful and sporty feel. Contributing to a keen sense of proportion and balance, inserts on both sides of the case are thoughtfully coordinated to complement the colour of the numerals and strap, creating a harmonious and cohesive composition. This subtle alignment of elements reinforces the Vanguard Sport’s bold character while elevating its overall aesthetic with understated sophistication.
Powering the Vanguard Sport is the MVD 2536-SCDT automatic movement, delivering an impressive 42-hour power reserve. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement is finished to Haute Horlogerie standards, with Côtes de Genève on the bridges and rotor plate, perlage on the mainplate, bevelled edges, diamond-polished sinks, and refined decorative techniques including sunray brushing and snailing.
