Commentary
Beda’a is a Qatari watch brand, a curious blend of Middle Eastern design with Swiss manufacture. The Eclipse is a rather interesting watch, as it combines some of the high end features, like digital hour display with a floating minutes indication in a very beautifully designed case. Tjhe colour scheme is in a deep maroon, almost purple hue, which is carried on the Qatar flag.
The face of the watch is very clean, with a large negative space playing with the time indication playing hide and seek. The watch reminds us of the Salterelo by Vacheron Constantin. Though in the VC, the hour display is jumping with a retrograde minutes display. Both additional complications. The VC case is a cushion shape.
In favour of the Bed’a, the gliding hour display is marked with Indian-Arabic numerals, and the minutes are indicated by a pointer at the end of a hand which is mostly covered by the center medallion which features an opening to show the hours.
The Bed’a is offered at a much more approachable price of CHF 2.7k, and sports a Sellita movement.

Beda’a unveils a new version of the Eclipse in commemoration of Qatar’s National day (Dec 18th).
This new release comes in response to the overwhelming and positive reception of the Eclipse, as well as the increasing demand for new iterations by friends and collectors, and serves as a celebration of both the brand as well as its home, Qatar.
The Eclipse: Qatar Limited Edition replaces the original blue accents of the watch with a deep Maroon – as carried on Qatar’s Flag.
This is also shown on the case back of the Eclipse, with a new Maroon rotor.
Eastern-Arabic numerals are displayed front and centre to show the hours, and the “Beda’a” Badge on the dial is replaced with Arabic calligraphy of the same.

Time told differently
Inspired by the rare natural phenomenon from which it takes its name, Eclipse reimagines the act of reading time from a minimalist yet striking perspective. Framed by a 37 mm stainless-steel case, a “celestial shield” conceals most of the dial, revealing only the essentials: a sweeping hour aperture, a floating minutes indicator, and a discreet 10-second counter.
The shield itself floats just beneath the sapphire crystal, creating a tactile connection and a play of light evocative of an eclipse’s corona. Beneath this architectural dial lies the Sellita SW300 automatic movement, visible through a sapphire case back. With its 8.1 mm profile and refined lug construction – each lug individually finished and fitted to the concave case via invisible screws – Eclipse balances visual presence with ergonomic comfort.
