For this year, IWC released several novelties, including the Big Pilot Petit Prince and the big novelty is the space Pilot’s Venturer Vertical Drive.
A very clear dial layout which is of the Pilot’s Vertical Drive is built from the ground up. The closed case back is a design choice to make the watch as thin as possible and it is easier to make than a sapphire crystal.
The innovative feature is the rotating bezel system which replaces the crown, allowing all adjustments to be made while wearing a space suit with gloves. Priced at CHF 24k before taxes.
The ceramic case is very clean lines and is in 44.4mm and executed in black on a black dial with markings in white and a powder blue, which provides a strong contrast to the white dial. The watch shows two timezone: labelled GMT and Mission time and a center mounted seconds hand with a date.
The movement is the IWC C.32722, self winding with 120 hours of power reserve.
