Our next appointment is at Hermès. We see the Suspendu in two different expression – one in the Arceau and the next in the Cut case design. And as with our Live from WWG25 series this week, we bring you along for our visit and you see this live from the PalExpo.

Live from WWG25: Suspendu, highlights from the Hermès new releases

Le Temps Suspendu

The revive of the Arceau Le temps suspendu, a return to the unique Hermès presentation of time. The name translates from French to Time suspended, and is a playful expression of Hermès time. It is the embodiment of time as a friend, toying with conventions to better celebrate the present moment.

The watch uses the case first seen 1979, designed by Henri d’Origny. Three new novelties are presented. called the Arceau Le temps suspendu. The case is trimmed down from 43mm to 42mm in diameter. Available in a polished 750 5N rose gold or 750 white gold (two dial options). The module of the movement is visible through a glass segment in the middle of the dial.

The peculiarity of the this watch happens when the button at 9 is pushed, and the minute and hour hands go to an impossible time indication with both hands near the 12 o’clock position. The hour hand is at about 11:30, but the minute hand is pointing to 3 min. The date also disappears when time is suspended. Time is suspended. Another push of the same pusher resets the hands to the correct time, as the movement keeps in beat when time is suspended. A quirky, but rather nice way to interpret time.

A second expression is done with the same H1912 movement in the Cut case, with the suspendu button at 8 o’clock.

Arceau Robacar de rire

Next, we have the Arceau Rocabar de rire. In a 41mm case inspired by a silk scarf motif with a horse which sticks its tongue out when the button at 9 o’clock is pressed. The dial features a miniature painting and the horsehair marquetry as the background.
