I went to visit my friend Vahé Vartzbed, CEO of Kerbedanz, and he showed me the new 65’27”. An entirely new collection from Kerbedanz. Here is my hands-on impressions.
Handling impressions of the Kerbedanz 65’27’’ collection, live from GWD26.
Make no mistake, this is a simple 2 hand watch, with a very nice animation on the dial side. The center part of the dial is a disc which rotates and acts as the hour hand. This makes one complete revolution every 12 hours. And the hours is indicated by a small diamond embedded to the disc. A regular hour hand is mounted centrally and fitted with pomme hands. The circle formed for the hand exactly overlaps the diamond when the hour and minute hands are aligned, allowing the diamond on the hour disc to appear within the circle of the upper minute hand. This occurs in every single two hand watch with centrally pivoted hour and minute markers. But the poetic license taken by Kerbedanz is to name the watch after this mathematical phenomena. The two hands over lap every 65 minutes and 27 seconds.

The case back shows the KRB10 movement, and visible as a finely finished oscillating mass which echoes the dial colour. Both the dial and rotor are in titanium. A small explanation of the meeting of hands natural phenomena is inscribed on the rotor using three small diamonds and a hand mimicking the hour hand. The inscription “

The model is available in numerous case material and colour combinations. Homage is paid to certain symbolic numbers 65, 27, and 9, which is based on the designer’s birthday. 27 September 1965.

The case is 38mm and quite well proportioned for an understated elegant dressy watch. The fit on my wrist is good.
