Leica celebrates 100 years, and as part of this celebrations, Leica opens a new flagship store in Singapore on February 18, 2025. We were at the boutique before the grand opening as well as the opening night and bring you this short report.
Leica new flagship boutique opens at South Beach Center
In addition, we are hosting an exclusive private gathering of watch and camera enthusiasts this evening, as this article is being published. More on this event and what we showed our guests later.
This will be the largest Leica store in Southeast Asia. The store combines a retail space for Leica cameras, optics and watches with a photographer print exhibition area, and a cafe. The location is interesting as the building used to house the armoury of the former Beach Road Camp, a military camp built in the 1930s. The area is now conserved multi-use commercial space.
The entrance is tucked in a deep corridor which used to be stores for the munitions.
Retail space
On entry, one is greeted with the camera retail space.
Leica Gallerie
And tucked around a VIP room where the watches are displayed as well as serve as a mini-theater to showcase the Leica Cine projection system is the gallery space.
Café Leitz
And around the corner as one makes one’s way around the Store, is the Leica Cafe.
Emanuele Scorcelletti’s Exhibition (18 February to 30 April 2025) – Elegia Fantastica
Hosted at Leica Galerie in the newly opened store at South Beach Quarter, this captivating showcase is curated by Karin Rehn-Kaufmann, Art Director & Chief Representative of Leica Galleries International, and Inas Fayed, Editor-in-Chief of Leica Fotografie International. Elegia Fantastica is a deeply personal and thought-provoking exploration, seamlessly blending two evocative works – Memories and Visions.
