What to expect
The exhibition takes the visitor through seven interconnected rooms. Each room showcases the history and legacy of Trinity and how it became an icon. First conceived by Louis Cartier, the collection initially represented the three Cartier brothers.

We begin at the Three is a Magic Number room. Here the theme is about the symbolism of the number three in the collection. It starts with the genius of the three Cartier brothers – Louis, Pierre and Jacques who had transformed the small Parisian jewellery into the global name it is today. Cartier also has three historic boutiques in Paris, London and New York.

Three is also the basis for the trinity, a collection where three interlocking bands in a construction made up of three interlocking bands in yellow, white and rose gold. The bands are free, but interlinked together into a harmonious arrangement, where no single band is distinguishable as the top or bottom. And in this second room, the history of the concept and products within the collection is shown

Next, the Trinity collection was made an icon by French poet and artist Jean Cocteau. Jean wore a Trinity ring on his left pinky, which became his distinctive style. The three bands symbolised himself, his lover and their love for each other. We discover a short video of Jean Cocteau and the poetic expression which came to symbolise the Trinity.

In The Icon of Icons room, the exhibit is modelled after two film strips which show how the Trinity collection had captivated the attention of fashion mavens, Hollywood stars and cafe society elites. An interactive touch screen allows visitors to drill in on more details of each photograph on the strip.

And then came the special art pieces launched by Cartier and curated by French artistic director Jerome Sans. More than 100 works by creatives from all over the world inspired by the three values of Trinity – love, universality and the diversity of bonds.

But for each of the host cities, Jérôme works with local as well as international artists to showcase 30 selected works. Singapore is well represented by creations from Olivia Lee, filmmaker He Shuming, and pianist-composer Churen Li.

Well, don’t wait. Book your slot to experience this amazing exhibition. Highly recommended.
