We have come to the end of 2024, and once again, and the team at Deployant will be sharing the three timepieces that we want to include in our Christmas wishlist.

Following Stanley and Chester’s article, it is finally my turn to share my horological wishlist this Christmas. So, without any further ado, these are the three watches that I have chosen.
MB&F Horological Machine 3
The first watch on my list is the exquisite Horological Machine 3, from MB&F.

As I have alluded in my “Dear Santa” article last year, there is just something special about the HM3. The HM3 is the watch that introduced me into the independent watchmaking scene, and it certainly has a special place in my heart. Despite seeing many incredible watches – including the other creations from MB&F – it is still not possible to dislodge the HM3 from the proverbial space in my heart.
If I am lucky enough to own a HM3, the variation in the picture above – produced in collaboration with the legendary Stepan Sarpaneva – will be my top pick. While the ordinary HM3 is a stunning piece in itself, the addition of Stepan Sarpaneva’s signature moon phase display takes the watch up to another level altogether. Incidentally, I am also a big fan of Stepan’s works, and I would dearly love to have a timepiece that celebrates these two great personalities in the industry together.
Patek Philippe World Time Ref. 5231G
The next watch that I have selected is the Patek Philippe World Time Ref. 5231G.

The World Timer from Patek Philippe is an iconic watch, and the Ref. 5231 is perhaps one of the most exquisite variants with the stunning cloisonné enamel dial and the unmistakable city disk. In addition, this watch features the Southeast Asia region for the cloisonné enamelling, which lends a nice touch particularly for us (since we call this region our home).
This is a beautiful watch that certainly fits perfectly in the corporate setting, and it is perhaps one of the finest world timers that is currently available in the market today. While I like creative and unique watches (such as the HM3), I also adore classic or simple watches that are well-executed. The Ref. 5231, with its signature design and extraordinary execution, certainly fits the bill here for me. The fact that the world timer is a useful complication certainly adds the icing on the cake.
In all honesty, even if I am presented with the lesser Ref. 5230, I would be extremely happy as well.
Cartier Santos Dumont Rewind
The last watch on my wishlist this year is the breathtaking Cartier Santos Dumont Rewind.

Cartier is always known to produce some of the most stylish and elegant timepieces, and the Santos Dumont Rewind is no exception to that. What I really like about this piece is the subtle touches that collectors might not recognise at the first glance, such as the counterclockwise display, as well as the ruby cabochon on the crown. On top of it all, the watch is also fitted with a red carnelian stone dial, which gives the Santos Dumont Rewind a really mysterious look.
The Santos Dumont Rewind is a classy watch, and one that the missus greatly adores as well. In my opinion, this is a great watch to share with your partner, and this is why the watch has made it onto my wishlist this year.
Concluding Thoughts
So, here concludes my horological wishlist this Christmas. While it is unlikely that I will be able to include any of these three watches into my collection any time soon (heads-up to Santa, if you are reading), I am still grateful for all the pieces that I have in my small collection today.
Until then, I hope that everyone has enjoyed this series thus far. Here’s wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, and a blessed New Year ahead!
