6 Spectacular Recommendations for the Bling Watch of Your Dreams

Last week we discussed our top recommendations for the watch for Quiet Luxury. This week, we go all out for the ultimate bling watches which shout! As we are a serious watch site, the requirements are not only must the watch come jewel encrusted, each must carry some complication of horological significance.

Please note that we will not be listing the prices…because at this level…if you have to ask the price…..

Jacob & Co Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Baguette

We start with Jacob & Co. Jacob Arabo started out as a jeweller, and he is possibly one of the best. Combine this with his love for watches, his sensibilities in design and his appreciation of the ultra complex movements, we have the Jacob & Co Timepieces. Many of the watches in the collection will qualify, including pieces like the Astronomia, the Billionaire, and in fact, most of his creations. But our pick is the Chiron Tourbillon.

We do not quite have this particular watch in review, but we have a hands-on detailed review of the same watch, sans baguette diamonds. The technical basis of the watch remains the same as the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon in White Gold. Except this recommended watch, because of…you know…the bling factor, comes fully encrusted in baguette diamonds.

Read our comprehensive review for the technical features of this watch, which on its own is SUPER impressive. Especially the replica of a Bugatti W16 engine. When activated by the right crown, the crankshaft turns and the 16 pistons pump up and down, just like a true internal combustion engine. Two “turbochargers” (down from four in the actual Chiron engine) on the side of the engine block spin while the engine runs. And then, add the invisibly set 341 White Baguette diamonds on the crown, the invisibly set 60 White Baguette Diamonds to the crowns and 18 more invisibly set White Baguette Diamonds to the clasp for a total of 22.15 carats in 419 stones! The case is in white gold case and ceramic crowns.

Franck Muller Round Triple Mystery

Next up, Franck Muller. Again, there are many bejewelled pieces to pick from in the catalog, And our choice is the Round Triple Mystery. The Triple is a continuation from Franck Muller’s exploration on mystery dials. It began with the Round Mystery with only the hour hand mounted on a rotating disc. The second had hour and minute indications on two rotating discs. And now the Triple Mystery has the hour, minute and seconds hands indicated by three rotating discs. Of course, for this article, the entire dial and all three discs are encrusted with pave diamonds. As is the case.

But this seems like a time only watch. And this is where the watch reveals its complication. The entire structure is just 0.0052g, with the arrow indicator at 0.002g, the diamond at 0.003g, and the skeleton pastille at 0.047g. This three simultaneously rotating disc may not be a high level complication on its own, as instead of three hands, the movement has to just drive three discs. So it becomes a challenge because each disc is gemstone encrusted, which this adds considerable weight. And this idea then turns to becomes an engineering feat to power all three discs.

On the wrist, the 39mm case feels rather nicely sized…especially on an average male wrist, though the visual impact before picking it up is one which is rather large. The brilliance of the dial and case with the gemstones make time reading to be a bit of a challenge, though truth be told, the contrast between the gems with the diamond background is rather good. With the exception of the two models with diamond markers, which look like an almost psychedelic trance of moving diamond discs.

Piaget Altiplano Concept Ultimate

Piaget is masterful in their ultra thin watches, as well as stone dials. And their catalog is also full of options for this listicle. Our pick it their Altiplano Concept Ultimate in Rose Gold and Diamonds. Our hands-on comprehensive review is the standard offering the Altiplano Concept Ultimate without 90 Brilliant Cut diamonds (approx 0.59 carats) on the bezel. Teh case is 18k rose gold.

The base watch is complicated as it is. We treat and acknowledge the ultra thin art as a complication by their own right. The Altiplano Concept Ultimate is ridiculously thin and light, as one would expect from the specifications.

When it was released in 2020, it was the thinnest watch in the world, but now slightly overtaken by the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC measures 1.70 mm as the thinnest production mechanical watch and COSC chronometer, and the Richard Mille RM UP-01 Ferrari measures 1.75 mm, created in collaboration with Ferrari. The Konstantin Chaykin ThinKing measures even thinner at 1.65 mm but currently presented only as a concept watch. The Piaget, although has the word Concept in its name, is a piece which is in regular production.

Hermès Arceau Wild Singapore

From Hermés, we have also a rich catalog of very bling watches to choose from. But in the distinctive Hermés style, which tends to be more the discreet, old money aesthetics than the outrageous styling of others. We could have picked from Arceau le Temps Voyager with gemset bezel, but we wanted to showcase one in this list with Métiers d’Art touch. This piece is taken from their Wild Singapore Collection, where the artistry on the dial is a miniature painting executed with woven gold thread revealing a majestic lion in the heart of a lush setting. 

The technique to create the miniature painting is one where gold thread is welded to depict the feline and its equatorial environment on the dial. The base begins as a gold plate. A varnish is applied and the motif transferred. The meticulous painting of the elements that will appear under and around the gold threads is executed next. Shapes and colours come to life through a multitude of layers of micro-painting, successively applied with a brush and dried in a hot kiln to create the effect.

Gerald Charles Masterlink Gem Set

Gerald Charles has, over the years, become one of our favourites. Not only are the watches designed well, made well, and wear well, they are also carry the aesthetic signature of none other than Gerald Genta. Without question, no matter how outrageous the design brief, the watch turns out to be beautiful. And we are completely besotted by the Masterlink collection, so our choice for this is the Masterlink Gem Set. We could also have equally well have chosen the Maestro 2.0 Ultra Thin Asia Limited Edition with the jade dial. But the Masterlink Gem Set is more bling.

From the three watches launched in 2025, our pick is the Red Sapphire. This is a two hand watch in stainless steel with integrated bracelet with red sapphires around the bezel and as the indices. You may ask, where is the complication? Well, in the Masterlink series, this is in the way the case is integrated to the bracelet. Each link is different in shape from the next, tapering from the the first link which appears as a extrusion from the case. The screws and pins holding the bracelet is not visible. Not from the front, the side, nor even the inside of the bracelet. And each finished with alternating surfaces of high polish and linear brushing. The dial itself is a two piece construction, where the slats are formed by a pierced plate placed over a base dial.

Krayon Everywhere

Remi Maillat is one of the new watchmakers who have emerged in the last decade or so. His seminal work is in his watch which he calls Everywhere. Krayon offers customisation to every one of his watches, including the amazing Anywhere and Anyday. But it is with the Everywhere with Diamond Bezel, which we first encountered in 2028 which makes this list. The Everywhere is also available in Metier d’Art dials like the Azur, or the Arboea.

The complication on the Everywhere is complicated indeed. It had the rather incredible ability to calculate sunrise and sunset times at ANY specific location. Enter the latitude, longitude and timezone, and the mechanism uses the date and month which is already mechanically encoded within to calculate sunrise and sunset times. These are displayed in sectors representing day and night which move and change size to show the times on the outer dial’s 24-hour scale. The 595 purpose-made components composing this masterpiece are all hand-finished using traditional haute horlogerie techniques.
